5 Reasons to Choose Thermapool
1. Thermapool prevents an incredible 86% of heat loss from your pool.
It makes sense that heat evaporates from the tops of swimming pools. However, there are other areas that lose significant amounts of heat that are often not considered by builders due to cut backs. It doesn’t matter whether the pool is above-ground or in-ground, the sides and bottom of the pool will still lose heat into the soil.

4. Zero Moisture Absorption
All other insulations that have been deemed suitable by manufacturers and swimming pool builders for use in pools, have never been independently tested for swimming pools.
Thermapool's research since 2003 has proven that the majority of insulation quickly absorb moisture and lose their insulating efficiency in a swimming pool. This renders the insulation useless at preventing heat loss!
. 5. Internally-Installed Insulation Thermapool is installed on the inside of the structure for maximum efficiency. Thermapool is more than 50% more efficient than insulating externally. When insulation is placed on the outside of the structure only 41% of the heat loss is stopped, due to heat escaping through the foundation into the ground (thermal bridging) and through the coping stone.
The following insulation materials are suitable for use in building construction above ground, however when used in a swimming pool, they will come into contact with moisture and will lose all their insulating properties, rendering them useless for their purpose and a waste of your money.

A costly mistake was made at the Helios Olympic swimming pool in Brussels, which had to be reinsulated as the Polyurethane insulation had taken on moisture.
This picture shows water being squeezed out of the Polyurethane swimming pool insulation that was removed.
When moisture is absorbed into insulation IT LOSES its insulating properties.
This accelerates heat loss, causing increased energy consumption.
It leads to physical deterioration of the insulation, resulting in dimensional changes which compromise structural integrity.
Wet insulations in low-temperature service have no opportunity to dry out. Moisture migrates to the point of lowest temperature and builds to permanent liquid saturation.

The majority of other insulating materials absorb water and lose their insulating efficiency. Thermapool is resistant to both liquids and vapours.
